Wally: Sears acquires WallyHome sensor tech from Seattle startup, opens U District office

Sears Holding Corp. has acquired WallyHome sensor technology, enabling the company to establish its second new Seattle technology office in less than a year, according to tech news site GeekWire. The technology, purchased from Seattle startup SNUPI (which stands for Sensor Network Utilizing Powerline Infrastructure) Technologies, can sense changes in moisture, temperature and humidity, alerting property owners to water leaks and other potential problems.
