Recently, WeGoLook announced its expansion into the United Kingdom following the company’s success in North America. Philip Madeley, WeGoLook’s UK Client Development Officer aptly noted that both Crawford & Company and WeGoLook are “are extremely committed to our UK expansion, and we are here to stay.”
Phil proudly states that “From Land’s End to John O’Groats and plenty in between, WeGoLook already has over 1,000 Lookers in the U.K,” who are ready to provide field services to help clients know what’s true on the ground.
Basically, “if you ever need to get eyes on something, anytime, anywhere, we are there for you. We help our customers become more efficient by freeing up their time whilst our Lookers get to work,” said Phil.
According to Phil, the average age of UK Lookers is slightly lower than in the US. “Given that all you need to be a Looker is some spare time, a smartphone, and a desire to deliver good work, you won't be surprised to learn that we have a very diverse group of people,” Phil noted. Adding that UK Lookers include photographers, loss adjusters, civil servants, police officers, stay at home parents, retirees, drone pilots... “all people looking to use the advantages that the gig economy offers.
WeGoLook’s Lookers are really an amazing group. You name it, we have a Looker with that experience.
Phil thinks the possibilities of where WeGoLook can go and what it can do are the most exciting part of the job. “Crawford, who invested in WeGoLook in 2017, is the world's largest publicly listed claims management provider,” he said. Phil added that it’s natural that Crawford and “their clients are leveraging our damage related inspections and helping restore lives, businesses and communities impacted by events.”
Clive Nicholls, president, UK & Ireland, Crawford, also believes that the sky's the limit for WeGoLook in the UK. "We are very ambitious for WeGoLook in the UK as we are building on a very successful and established model out of the US. Crawford’s clients both insurance related or corporate now have instant access to WeGoLook's preconfigured data and are able to complete claims processing or simple site inspection in a fraction of the time. This means a higher quality of service for the policyholder, or better brand compliance for corporate customers and also greatly increases productivity as they are able to rely on the Looker network to gather the data they need."
As the gig economy continues to boom, WeGoLook combines technology with an on-demand workforce of over 40,000 Lookers in North America, and now the UK, to help businesses and individuals gather and validate information anytime, anywhere.
Phil is excited about knowing what comes next in the company, and said that the “team at WeGoLook is constantly developing and enhancing the range of solutions that we offer”
Phil joined the UK team because of his interest in business growth and in technology. “Having worked for both startups and well established large companies, I was drawn to the challenge and opportunity to launch WeGoLook into the UK and grow with the support of Crawford,” he said.
The company has been leveraging mobile technology and tapping into the on-demand workforce in the UK. “They are are talented and hardworking,” Phil adds. “And more than that, I love the concept of WeGoLook and was a Looker before I joined the company.”
As the first non-US based employee, Phil said he gets to wear many hats. “That's one of the reasons I was drawn to WeGoLook,” he added. He claims that in a couple of years there will be a number of UK representatives helping WeGoLook become the market standard for on-demand information gathering.
Besides his job, which involves expanding this incredible network of Lookers, Phil loves the UK. “I am lucky enough call the UK home having lived in a couple of countries and visited many more for both work and fun. Having been away for a long time I was amazed by how much happens in such a relatively small country: the sheer amount of history, culture and vibrant music scene - even the range of accents is incredible,” he said.
“We have an awful lot happening over here,” Phil added.
Indeed, and there’s a lot more to come!
