I'm interested in using a colored (brown/bronze) metal roof, but was told that the color would fade. Is that correct?A. It depends entirely on the quality of the finish. There are a number of types of finishes that are used on zinc-coated steels and aluminum metal roofing (the most popular type of colored metal roofing materials). Some of them are made of very pigment-dense finishes that have 40+ year fade warranties, and some are made of cheaper paints that are likely to fade in a decade or less.
