Wilde Toyota Blog One Million Hybrids

Yesterday Toyota announced they have surpassed the one million mark for Hybrid vehicle sales in the United States. What is so staggering about that number, though, is just how fast it happened. The Prius was originally introduced to the U.S. in 2000, and between 2000 and 2007 Toyota sold 500,000 hybrid vehicles. In just two short years since, Toyota doubled that number to sell over one million hybrids.Since the initial launch of the Prius Toyota has definitely evolved their hybrid technology. Not only has the technology evolved, but also the hybrid line-up; Toyota now has three hybrid vehicles on the market: the Prius, Camry Hybrid, and Highlander Hybrid. The Prius is now going on the third generation with, some great new technology, better fuel economy, more power, and a larger interior/exterior. You can be sure the Prius is set to continue pushing the benchmark for hybrid technology.Be sure to check us out for the upcoming 2010 Prius, as well as future hybrid vehicles as they become available!
