Thank you in advance to those who are coming and those who have shown such tremendous support through donations and love!Life is as mysterious as it is miraculous. Since the last Dinner for Herm two little cells gathered and began the process of division to perform magic. Marietta let me know one day in 2016 that she was given a due date of January 11th. I was a little speechless. That date was burned into my brain as it was the same due date I was given for Herm. I took the news as a message that he approved and was waiting for this baby. As promised, January and the full moon brought us Luna, Herm's niece. All those luscious cells are still dividing. She is walking and talking, thinking, listening, absorbing. Like her uncle, she excels at delivering joy. Two years before Herm's diagnosis, quiet cells were dividing. They worked undetected, under the cover of his healthy happy exterior. They hid from us during chemo and then carefully mysteriously resurrected themselves. They flourished in an otherworldly way. Three years into treatment we read about and met Cath Bollard. She took Marietta's valiant cells and trained them. A miracle, she turned those T cells into targeted warriors. This was the treatment that we wanted for Herm and for the world. This is the treatment that can go silently; painlessly hunting for tumors to stop them in their tracks, make them disappear. This is the magic we want, potions that make the immune system more powerful, not less powerful. Cath is working steadily on this for those who will be luckier than Herm. But Herm was there, he was a stepping-stone in the path of immunotherapy that will get us to the cures we need for Luna's generation. This is what we are working for. That is what this little boy in front of the bookshelves wants for the future. You are helping us every year, with every donation to the Holland C Gregg IV Research Fund. Thank you from us. Thank you from Herm. Thank you from the future. Click here for online tickets to the Dinner for Herm- call us with any questions: 800.272.8844
