Xcelience: Former Pfizer unit agrees to buy Tampa drug developer

One of Tampa Bay's largest privately held companies soon could have a new owner. Xcelience, a Tampa contract drug development firm, signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by drug capsule manufacturer Capsugel. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal also calls for Capsugel to acquire Powdersize, a company Xcelience invested in earlier this year.
